Recently, I read about Lagos increasing its punishments on people who do not follow COVID protocol. As a person who has seen the affects of COVID firsthand, I am both excited and worried about some of these suggested sanctions. I read that a person could lose their permanent residency status if they are a foreigner and possibly be prosecuted if they are a Nigerian. I think that a hard stance on the issue and sanctions is necessary; however, I think there are other sanctions of lesser impact that would also result in less people breaking protocol.
